Of course, the great thing about XLs is you can put a tall tranny sprocket on 'em, ride 'em for 700 miles, then change it back to a low 19T or 21T sprocket in less than an hour once you've reached your destination. I went with a set of Andrews of some kind "back in the day", and it completely changed it from being a slowass dog off the line back into it's normal quick, zippin' around town Sporty self. The fix for that however, is to find a set of low ratio 1st and 2nd gears to install in your tranny. The 24T is just too tall for stop and go putting around the hood, you'll be riding the clutch from a dead stop quite a bit to say the least. Problem's gonna be it'll become a freakin' snail off the line.

I went with the 24 on my '57 along with a Diamond nickle plated o-ring chain and everything cleared fine after I made the extra room.
